The magnet sets up a magnetic field, and the electrical current through the screw sets up a separate electromagnetic field around the screw. The two fields react and the result is rotation. I used my GWS "Slow Stick" park flyer, but I impatient and the weather was a bit too windy for the Slow Stick. This made the flight uneven, but all went well.
